National Emergency Briefing

The National Emergency Briefing (NEB) is a UK campaign and educational project that explains the climate and nature crisis and encourages informed public discussion and action.

On 27 November 2025, leading scientists and experts presented an evidence-based briefing at Central Hall Westminster to around 1,250 invited attendees, including MPs, senior civil servants, business leaders, and representatives from the faith, culture, sport, and media sectors.

The briefing focused on how climate change and nature loss are already affecting health, food security, national security, and the economy.

The NEB aims to:

• Provide policymakers with the latest scientific evidence in a single briefing.
• Increase public understanding of climate and nature risks.
• Encourage a stronger, government-led national response.
• Promote action based on scientific evidence.
• Call for a televised national emergency briefing so the wider public can access the same information.

These are the official expert briefings from the National Emergency Briefing. In this series, the nation’s leading scientists and experts present the unfiltered facts on climate and nature: where we are, where we’re heading, and what we can still do. Each 10-minute briefing covers the impacts facing people in the UK, the possibilities if we act, and the science-based pathway forward. This playlist forms the evidence base for the national conversation. Every policymaker, journalist and community leader should see these talks.

People’s Emergency Briefing

To support these goals, a documentary film, People’s Emergency Briefing, based on the event was released in April 2026 for community screenings across the UK, often involving local MPs. The U3AC Environment Group organised a showing of the People’s Emergency Briefing in May 2026.

Community Screenings

After the original Westminster briefing the organisers created a film version to show across the UK. Community screenings are being shown in places like: Village halls, Cinemas, Workplaces. It is your chance to see the briefing leaders saw. The film shows the UK’s environmental and climate risks clearly and accessibly. Their aim is to:

  • Bring the same information to the general public

  • Encourage discussion at local levels

  • Help communities and MPs see the same evidence

  • Build wider awareness beyond political circles
